My baking experiment #71 – pepperoni pizza

I normally bake sweet desserts but today the husband was craving a savory pepperoni pizza so i decided to make it myself. I made the pizza dough and he topped it with whatever he wanted and we baked it in an outdoor grill:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 Tbsp yeast
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 2/3 cup lukewarm water

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 cup flour with all other ingredients. Gradually add 2nd cup flour until dough ball forms.
  2. Use hands to knead dough. Let dough rest 10-15 minutes in bowl covered with plastic to keep warm.
  3. Roll dough out onto greased pizza pan and top with toppings. Bake at 375 F for 15-20 minutes.

I had no idea it was this easy to make pizza dough. The pizza crust turned out perfect: tender & crispy, just the way we like it. According to my husband, it’s the best pizza he ever ate. And that says a lot! I believe we’ll be making lots of pizza in this household 🙂
