I needed an inspiration for dessert tonight and came across this recipe for bongo bars. Never heard of bongo bars but it’s an interesting name for a dessert. They are basically chocolate chip blondies and from the pictures they look absolutely delectable:
- 4 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 4 oz chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease loaf pan.
- Mix butter and brown sugar in bowl. Mix in flour and baking powder. (Mix will be crumbly. Do not overmix!)
- Mix in egg and vanilla. Fold in chocolate chips. Spread in pan.
- Bake 20-30 minutes. Enjoy with ice-cream!
Right out of the oven they are crispy & crunchy on the outside, chewy & gooey on the inside. They taste like chocolate chip cookies with the texture of brownies. These bongo bars are absolutely amazing, perfect with ice-cream! 🙂
