Today is x’mas eve eve. I’m planning to bake a couple things tomorrow, so once again i’ll keep it simple tonight by whipping up a mug cake for dessert. I’ve made chocolate mug cake and peanut butter mug cake, both very good. The flavor for this evening’s mug cake is… Nutella!
- 4 Tbsp flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 4 Tbsp Nutella
- 3 Tbsp milk
Combine all ingredients in mug or ramekin. Mix with fork until batter is smooth. Microwave 1 minute until top of cake looks done. Dust with powdered sugar or top with ice-cream if desired.
Hmm… to be honest, this mug cake is a little disappointing. I can’t taste the Nutella at all. In fact, the taste is very light, not very chocolatey. If i close my eyes i can’t really tell it’s a chocolate cake. And since there’s no egg, the cake is a little loose & crumbly. Of course, this makes an easy & fast dessert. And with no added sugar or butter, it’s not too bad calorie-wise. I topped it with ice-cream and enjoyed it with chocolate syrup. Everything tastes better with ice-cream! 🙂
