My baking experiment #110 – cinnamon sugar puffs

Happy new year everyone, hope your year started out great! I overindulged in much yummy foods & decadent desserts over the X’mas & New Year holidays, resulting in a 3-lb weight gain and an uncomfortable bloated feeling. So for my first bake of 2016, i decided to go with something simple & light: cinnamon sugar puffs.


  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp yogurt


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray mini muffin pan with cooking spray.
  2. In medium bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, sugar and cinnamon. Add milk and yogurt and mix until combined.
  3. Divide batter into 12 mini muffin cups. Bake 10-15 minutes until golden. Top with additional cinnamon sugar if desired.

These sugar puffs have a light cinnamon flavor but are not very sweet. With no egg or oil, their texture is soft & airy, almost like a cream puff. They satisfy my sweet tooth without adding to my bloated feeling. Hopefully this feeling will soon pass and i’ll be able to indulge in more decadent desserts! 😛
