My baking experiment #152 – baked fudge

Happy Saturday! Weekends are always too short. We need like 3 or 4-day weekends. Been busy all day today running errands and house-hunting, no time to rest. Finally came home, had a simple dinner, watched some show on Netflix, and now craving some dessert. Something chocolaty… and gooey… and fudgy.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa
  • 1 TbspΒ flour
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 tspΒ vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat egg until light in color. Beat in sugar until just combined. Add cocoa, flour, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix gently until well combined.

Pour batter into two large ramekins. Set ramekins into a larger pan halfway full of water.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes until upper crust is crispy and the rest of the batter is firm but not completely set.

Enjoy warm with sweetened whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Mmm… these fudge cakes are sooo good! With a crispy upper crust and a gooey & fudgy center, they’re like fudge brownies but not as dense. The chocolate flavor is pronounced but not overwhelming, perfect with whipped cream or ice-cream.

Ok, chocolate craving satisfied. Now time to relax and watch the Olympics. Have a great weekend, and happy baking! πŸ™‚
