My baking experiment #162 – hot chocolate brownies

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone had a fun & enjoyable thanksgiving. I used the holidays to catch up on some much-needed R&R. Been quite busy at work these past several weeks, so it’s been great to just spend some time chilling at home.

Well it’s back to work tomorrow, so i think i deserve a treat today! I’ve been reading my previous posts and realized that my last three were all no-bake desserts. But more importantly, they were all chocolate-based treats! πŸ˜›

I’m such a chocoholic. And today is no different. The weather’s a little chilly so i’m craving some hot chocolate, and at the same time i’m also craving some ooey-gooey brownies. So why not combine the two and bake up a batch of hot chocolate brownies?!

1 ounce chocolate chips
3 TbspΒ butter
1/2 cup hot chocolate mix
1 large egg
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup flour

mini marshmallows for garnish

Preheat oven to 350Β°F. Line loafΒ pan with foil and spray with cooking spray.

Microwave chocolate and butter on high in 30-second bursts, stirring between each burst, until mixture is melted. Let cool slightly. Stir in hot chocolate mix. Mix in egg and vanilla. Stir in salt and flour until combined.

Pour into pan and bake for 10 minutes. Sprinkle mini marshmallows on top and bake 5 more minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

OMG!!! I’m not kidding when i say these are the best brownies i’ve ever had! They are super fudgy! And their flavor is a deep rich chocolate! Almost like eating a soft chocolate fudge! I love love love these brownies!

So simple to whip up, it’s perfect for a chilly fall day. Oh who am i kidding? These are perfect for any day! Especially for the chocolate lover (or chocoholic) in your life… I’m sure these will be amazing with a scoop of ice-cream on top πŸ˜‰

OK please excuse me while i go consume the entire pan of brownies. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of this thanksgiving weekend, and happy baking! πŸ™‚
